There are many measures we can use, unfortunately wellbeing is in the eye of the beholder (just look at Pakistan where a larger number of young Pakistanis believe the country should be governed by Islamic law or military rule rather than democracy). I have started this discussion quite a while ago and I have recently posted one of my slides on my DZA Facebook page (like the page ;-)
I had a very long answer, but decided to only post my conclusion (happy to discuss further):
Guns do not mix well with emotions and mood altering substances
That will depend on how you feel about Italy. Being a citizen of a country means talking active part of the political and economic scene regardless of the situation. Expatriation is not easy (I have been an expatriate for most of my life) and you cannot live your life just as an observer and taking from the country you live in, without giving back. If you want to live on the fast lane, move to Singapore or Shenzhen, but you will always be reminded that you are just another "white nose"
